HOW IS COLLEGE RELEVANT TO YOU? HOW SO OR NOT?

Everybody dreams of going to college when you first step foot in high school. You start to think about who you want to be in life and everything just starts from there. Being knowledgeable everyday or learning something new each day is a plus because knowledge is power and just like how we have to go through a whole bunch of steps to fixing or putting together a toy, it can also compare to your freshman year in college to pursuing you career after graduation.
College is a great memory and experience to have because every single student wants to live the good life once you are in school but other than that, there are other things to worry about rather than just having fun.
I believe colleges should make books less expensive and more affordable. The average college student spends about 700-900 dollars on books for their classes. It is very frustrating sometimes because some students just cant afford it and some people just dont feel like renting it. Half of the time, the books are not even utilized everyday in their classes which also means that it is just a waste of money and waste of trees.
The next thing that can make college more relevant and beneficial is learning the necessary material and using our resources. 75% of colleges around the nation either teach lectures in front of the class and some teachers prefer to run a computer based class which involves the use of technology every single day. I prefer the professor teaching in class so i can trust the teacher and know that i am learning the right material in class. It is more beneficial and you can ask questions instead of looking confused on your work.
Last of all, I would like more resources to be available to me without stressing or something that doesn't involve the student spending money. Computers and the library are good resources to utilize because you can learn more by the click of a button and just opening the page of a book. Perhaps for once, it wouldn't be a problem if we could use our teachers, coaches and our friends without anybody making an excuse. College is great but schoolwork alwlays comes first because fun doesn't compare to graduating from college or getting a degree.

  1. I think that colleges that have really active learning eviroment produce smarter students mainly because computer based classes and teacher who lecture the whole time tend to be boring. Personally I tend to lose train of thought, daydream, & sleep through boring classes. I also think that large classes are hard to learn in. I fell that being in large classes are a disadvantage because you cant get the specific help you need.
