This poem reminds of the day, I lost my grandmother (Hannah Boafo) to cancer. She was one of the strongest and one of the most inspirational in my whole family. As a matter fact, she was the strongest of the whole family. Everytime there was fighting, problems or just wrong things going on the family, she was the glue that kept all the pieces together. Words can't explain the emotion and the pain I felt when my dad called from 4,000 miles away just to tell me that she is gone. Those words are one of the most painful words but I'm also happy. Everytime I pick up her picture beside my bed and look at it, I get so happy for her because I know she's in a better place getting everything she deserve to get. YES, SHE IS GONE BUT SHE WILL ALWAYS BE HERE IN MY HEART. I LOVE HER AND MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.
Your pictures are in frames, memories on my wall,
To have you here again, I would give them all.
A picture cannot capture, the beauty of your skin,
Or the radiating glow I'd feel, whenever you would grin.
They cannot talk or sing to me, the way you used to do,
I'll never love another, the way that I love you.
So I look at you my soul mate, a picture in a frame,
I cry my tears of sorrow, cause I feel God's to blame.
He came and took the one, who made my life complete,
And all that's left are pictures, and an empty seat.
I also have a feeling down, deep within my heart,
It's the pain of loneliness, since we've been apart.
I try not to let the grief, just overcome my day,
I'll blow a kiss to heaven and send it when I pray.
I'll ask God to free me now, from a world so blue,
To take me up to Paradise, so I can fly with you.
I'm waiting for the day you come, calling out my name,
Until then I'll be staring at, your picture in a frame
WHATS UP!! WHATS GOOD!!

TIE MY HANDS SONG--
TIE MY HANDS(BY:LIL WAYNE AND ROBIN THICKE)
This song is made by Michael Dwayne Carter(AKA: Lil Wayne) featuring Robin Thicke. The song speaks so much volumes and compares to the life after Hurricane Katrina. The day Hurricane Katrina happened was one of the most darkest days in America. Of course, the whole was affected so people made plans right away so they can help and make a difference for those families who are affected by the storm.
A few days after the tragic event, Lil Wayne decided to release all his emotions through this song. As he gets deep into the lyrics, he explains about how hurt he is when he says"let the truth be known, let them talk that freedom and didnt even leave a ladder.) He's hurt because, it frustrates him so much that the government isn't doing enough to help the catastrophe. On top of that, he also feels like the government isn't helping the community by taking the sports teams and any kind of representation to the city of New Orleans.
At the end of the song, he saids that his people are been looked on as a refugee but not as a human being. He wants everybody to accept each other as an emotional, and a physical person at the same time. He wants everybody to make a difference, and lead the kids down to the right path or there will be no future. IF WE CAN SAVE OURSELVES WHO IS GOING TO SAVE US NOW''.

RESPONSE TO " A Vision of Students Today"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGCJ46vyR9o
This video speaks on good terms on what a regular student experiences when they are going to school. Everybody has their opinion and are entitled to it. Many students going to school experience and face many different obstacles while balancing their school with many issues presented in front of them. I mean "school is not easy at all and i dont even think it is meant to be''. Maybe starting school at a young age may be very easy but those are basically the stages of learning the right fundaments to help you become a better person and student.
Today, students go to school just to go to school. They dont see the benefits that can help them better theirself as a person. Maybe back in the days, Education didnt mean so much because you could get a job with just referring to the people you know. As a student in college like myself, I have so far experienced a part of what a student in college goes through. Things i experience while in college include paying for tuition, adjusting to some teacher's teaching methods, staying alert and on top of your schoolwork and the use of resources available to me. All of these are certain factors a student in colleges faces everyday.
One thing I learned from experience is that you always have to do things on your own. You are in control of the situation and the way you handle it will be results you'll get out of it. ''NOTHING IS NEVER GUARANTEED''!!

My Favorite Mistake
By: Jerry Wintraub
Mistakes??? You may think the first thing that comes to mind is letting an opportunity slip away and you know that you'll never get a chance like that because that opportunity that flew out the window maybe your last chance you'll ever get in a certain situation. I believe that there's always chances to fix to what you messed up but i dont think it will never be like what i am about to tell you?
So on Monday night, I was reading this news article on newsweek.com on my laptop and I saw this article that caught my eye about a 61yr old called Jerry Wintraub who used to work at a concession stands for some of Elvis concerts back in the 1970's. One day he came up with this idea to buy 35,000 scarves from India, bring it back to the states and hope to make a profit by selling the scarves to the sellout crowds Elvis used to have at his concerts. These weren't some regular old scarves, they happpened to be custom made scarves with Elvis picture on each of them. Meanwhile, when he returned to the states, he had already made his mind up knowing that he was going to make profit from selling those scarves because he said"Where there was a show, there were people with money". At that point of time while he was still working at the concession stands, he started to sell the scarves but the plan didnt quite workout as planned or as he thought it would.
On New Years Eve of 1975, he drove Elvis Presley to Pontiac, Michigan for a concert at the Silverdome which was estimated to be about 80,000 fans in attendance. Other than taking Elvis to the concert, Wintraub had another job as the one man show concession stand during those concerts. Jerry said "Elvis did fabolously well as always". He used to take the scarfs on his neck with sweat on it and just hand it to a lucky girl. First they would just take the smell in and just feint for some odd reason.
While the concert was going on, the scarfs just weren't selling. He thought to himself that it was a big mistake and he just didn't want to put 35,000 scarves to waste. Moments passed by and everything just seemed like it was headed the wrong way. Jerry had a frown on his face and sometimes it just rare to see an old man down like that.
So here comes Elvis and his entourage. He asked Jerry if everything and replied back saying everything was terrible and was just horrible mistake. After explaining to Elvis about his problem, Elvis gave him a solution to Jerry Wintraubs issue. After a short moments after resuming the show, Elvis told the crowd to buy the scarfs to help fix his problem. By the end of the night, Jerry Wintraub sold about a million dollars worth of material. He also learned his lesson saying that "you shouldn't buy 35,000 scarfs unless you have Elvis Presley to sell them.

HOW IS COLLEGE RELEVANT TO YOU? HOW SO OR NOT?
Everybody dreams of going to college when you first step foot in high school. You start to think about who you want to be in life and everything just starts from there. Being knowledgeable everyday or learning something new each day is a plus because knowledge is power and just like how we have to go through a whole bunch of steps to fixing or putting together a toy, it can also compare to your freshman year in college to pursuing you career after graduation.
College is a great memory and experience to have because every single student wants to live the good life once you are in school but other than that, there are other things to worry about rather than just having fun.
I believe colleges should make books less expensive and more affordable. The average college student spends about 700-900 dollars on books for their classes. It is very frustrating sometimes because some students just cant afford it and some people just dont feel like renting it. Half of the time, the books are not even utilized everyday in their classes which also means that it is just a waste of money and waste of trees.
The next thing that can make college more relevant and beneficial is learning the necessary material and using our resources. 75% of colleges around the nation either teach lectures in front of the class and some teachers prefer to run a computer based class which involves the use of technology every single day. I prefer the professor teaching in class so i can trust the teacher and know that i am learning the right material in class. It is more beneficial and you can ask questions instead of looking confused on your work.
Last of all, I would like more resources to be available to me without stressing or something that doesn't involve the student spending money. Computers and the library are good resources to utilize because you can learn more by the click of a button and just opening the page of a book. Perhaps for once, it wouldn't be a problem if we could use our teachers, coaches and our friends without anybody making an excuse. College is great but schoolwork alwlays comes first because fun doesn't compare to graduating from college or getting a degree.

WHEN I WALK INTO MY ROOM! I SEE.....
I walk into the door and I see a bright cream colored wall with a lovely texture decorated with my country flag of Ghana hanging on the left side wall of my room. Colors on the flag are red, yellow, and green with a big black star in the middle of the yellow color on the flag. On the floor, there's a nice hardwood floor covered with a burgundi carpet spread across the floor in the whole room. I call the carpet unique because it coordinates with the color of my closet which is in fact the same color when seen. Its about 10 foot tall on the inside and 5 ft wide with a couple of blue and white hangers for my clothes. The queen size bed is covered with green sheets and burgundi diamond designs on it. The pillow is just a regular Superman pillow with a big red S on it. On the right side of the bed is my dresser with my purple laptop opened while it stays put on the dresser. Three more steps is my 32 inch sansui tv which also sits right next to my xbox 360 and the nintendo wii. When i walk into my room, i feel relaxed and relieved in my own place. I see it as a place of peaceful sleep.

THE XBOX KINECT
X BOX kinect- This is by far the greatest interaction game that can get interacted with the computer.
Its amazing what a little sensor can do. The first time i played it, I was sweating and kind of felt a little light headed. From the statistics from what I read. It is actually selling a lot less than the wii, and the ps3.
The greatest things about this is creating your own person to play with which is called a MII.
This is just simply amazing. Using the kinect can be very frustrating because the cursor might make a little mistake and click a certain object you werent supposed to click.
I never seem to get tired of playing this game system. It is fun safe and it is kind of a good thing to use to get in shape. You can also go to the store and get a fitness which is selling in stores in your nearest department stores like Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Gamestop.
